NOTE: This patter is from chapter 2 of a sewing / patterns book UndeadThreads from 2004 so it is a bit dated.
NOTE 2 : Dollfie heads were larger in 2003. may make this pattern a little large on todays BJD heads.

Lolita Headbands have become very popular at conventions. (in 2004) They are very easy to sew. Having only 3 parts for view A and view B is just a dresses up copy of view A. the fact that they’re so easy makes them a good first project for your doll. | ![]() | ![]() |
Straps
Pin LOLITA HEADBAND STRAPS to the center of the narrow edges of LOLITA HEAD BAND and stitch into place

If you are making view A skip part two of the directions and go to part three.
lacing View B only Most of the lacing on lolita clothing for dolls and full sized people alike, are fake. Most often made of ribbon stitched at the edges They are gray marks on LOLITA HEADBAND. These marks are used to line align the lacing. | ![]() |
Using gray marks as a guide Pin ribbon to edges and stitch to LOLITA HEADBAND.

Lace
Stitch a ring of lace around the top of LOLITA HEADBAND. Make sure that the lace is stitched over all layers and seams sewn so far.

The bow
Yow can buy pre tied bows that look nice for almost the same price as the ribbon you need to make them. so there is no real reason to make your own. Unless you want to, here are the directions just incase you want to.
Use the cutting guide to cut 2 strips of ribbon for the bows. Fold in half and stitch on place at seam B1 making a kind of fish shape. | ![]() |
Pull the center front back to meet seam B1 | ![]() |
Cut a short strip of ribbon and stitch or glue it around the center of the bow. | ![]() |
Hand stitch or glue bows to the narrow ends of LOLITA HEADBAND | ![]() |
