Fold

Cutting on the Fold.

Some patters will need to be cut on the fold. What this means is the cloth is folded and the pattern piece is placed on the edge of the fold be fore cutting. Most patterns requiring you to do so will have one of two marks on them to tell you were to put the edge.

In the US imperial patterns are used. Imperial patterns use this symbol is used to show where to place the fold
In Asia metric patterns are used. Metric patterns use this symbol to show were to place the fold edge.
